Mike Campbell

Vice President Personnel

I have not always possessed the leadership qualities I have now, but I have always had a passionate desire to learn. And I have always had the gift of strong vision for the future. Having an external coach has enabled me to test drive my thinking and skills in safety - before taking some risks within the organisation.

This has been a highly productive process for me as I have not only learned many skills at the precise time I needed them (eg how to communicate my vision in a compelling way for everyone) but I have also learned how to facilitate my own development better too. I now have the ability to stand back at two levels - I can stand back and see myself watching myself now……. It is amazing how many different insights you can get from this perspective.

I have also learned to trust my intuition and value that part of my intelligence. But I have also learned that whatever happens, I can choose a way of thinking about it that makes it work for me. My confidence has grown to the point where I know I am being authetically me in achieving my business and personal goals.

In my experience, coaching is not merely a sounding board, but a relationship through time with someone who knows my strengths and weaknesses, and who supports and challenges me with honesty and integrity. This is what leads to real growth - for both individuals and organisations.
